I don't really like the world "evil". It tends to throw people into a lather, and then I feel they don't think clearly. But I think you can plainly see that I mentioned Stalin, and the intent of my post is fairly clear, at least to me. Were you unclear that I meant to equate them as fairly equally awful?

I am sure racism played a huge factor in the perception of the Japanese, but it's still true that they were just brutal conquerors, rather than busy bees planning the extermination of any particular races, or religious groups. I mean they certainly COULD have drawn up plans for the extermination of the Koreans, or the Chinese, or whatever, but they didn't. They had other plans. In this instance, I think it's the plans that make for the difference.
