you might want to seriously consider rent vs. own. There is almost 100% depreciation of a wife after marriage of certian physical returns and the carrying costs of the wife are usually much higher than the monetary returns. if you rent you can treat the transaction as an expense rather than a long term liability.

(I do love my wife but I wish her and the kids would leave for 4 days of the week and come back after I get some sleep)
