RCG re #5916- Unfortunately, Karen Armstrong's article proves nothing, as she goes on to talk about how peaceful islam is, through her interpretation of the koran, but shows no muslims doing anything to prove the point or support peaceful islam publicly. Don't you ask yourself why? Read Spencer's interpretations of the same book and tell me if he doesn't know what he's talking about. By the way, Robert Spencer regularly uses her as an example of apologist interpretation of the koran. I would like to see someone show me where Robert is wrong, or fabricated anything in any of his paper or electronic works. Listen, I see all of your postings and I don't really get your point. Are you out to show that there is evil in the world besides political islam? Any dummy knows there is. Has every other political group risen above it's past to become good citizens by and large? The answer is yes. Contrary to Samuel Huntington's description of it as a "Clash of Civilizations", Pipes and Sultan got it right by calling it a "Clash of Civilization and Barbarism". Hey, I read "Under the Banner of Heaven" and I wasn't concerned about mormon fundamentalism, why, because it is not a credible threat to our way of life. Political islam is.
