Cheney deserves life in prison. In the old days they'd do a lot worse. Erect the scoffolding. Cheney is a traitor. No ifs, ands of buts about it. But these days that's hard to prove and Cheney considers himself above the laws. So a heart attack might be the best way to get rid of him. I knopw the GOP would be relieved to see him go. He's a walking can of worms in terms of corruption and deceit.

The 'liberal' MSM ignored it because it didn't happen.

I missed the original airing, but saw it later. Frank did not tell a joke; in a discussion about the Huffington web site taking down a blog that told the joke ('the bomb was wasted'), he repeated what had been posted.

Maher did not think it was a good idea. He said the joke was funny (no accounting for taste), but did say that if Cheney were dead, more people would be alive. An opinion (which he incorrectly called a 'fact') that one may or may not agree with.

The rightwing picked this non-story up and twisted it as a smoke screen for Coulter's gaffe. As Maher pointed out, his so-called gaffe happened, ironically, during a discussion of free speech...

Here is the original rightwinger's article:

80% of Americans would be greatly relieved if Cheney were to somehow have health problems and be taken out of power, including half the Republicans. He's become the political equivalent of Ann Coulter, a dangerously dishonest, corrupt leader with no heart or ethics, and no concern for the facts.

In the old days, he'd already be headed for the gallows for treason.
