re: In the meantime, Obama will have been a Senator for 3-4 years when he runs. How much experience do you need? And really how can any job prepare you to be president of the US? What we do know is that he is much brighter than Bush and appears to be far more competent. That will do it for me.

If you look at resume, Richardson has them all (Dems and Reps) beat hands down. Bush I suppose could argue that Daddy in the WH gave him experience, as Hillary can argue that Hubby did.

re: BTW I keep thinking about Brian William's report last nite from Iraq where he was showing us that the surge was working. It felt so much like a dog and pony show. Now I know Williams is not that stupid to fall for something like that......so I have to wonder.......did he do that in repayment for getting to interview Bush recently? Frankly, I don't trust any of them anymore.

Yeah I suppose if you put enough troops in Baghdad then Baghdad will have less violence. The "insurgents" will move elsewhere, and you notice 9 US troops and 90+ Iraqi's were killed "elsewhere".

If we put 2,000,000 troops "permanently" throughout Iraq we would probably have a "permanent" solution. Then we put a couple more million in Afghanistan, Iran, Sudan, Pakistan...

Just what the founding father envisioned for our country. But don't tell Tim and Ten and the rest. They like their war games. Just don't ask them to pay in higher taxes or military service. They are the elite they keep whining about.

Ted, > How come this issue never came up when Bush ran?

He was too busy defending his "faith-based initiatives" from the atheist activists.

As for Obama, I'll take him over Hillary any day of the week. If he is anything like former D.C. mayor Anthony Williams ( en.wikipedia.org ), the Democrats would be stupid not to nominate Obama.
