I didn't write them off. The New Testament defines what a believer is and isn't. Jesus says that His kingdom is not of this world, otherwise His servants would fight. Jesus, Peter, Paul, James, Stephen and countless unnamed saints all suffered and died for their faith. They did not take up arms to defend it or promote it. No man, nor group of men, overturns the policies set forth by the Lord and remains true to Him.

Connecting Christians today with the violent Christians of the past is not the same as the acts of Muslims today and the violent Muslims of the past.
