That's a very reasonable recommendation given the extremely unAmerican nature of unlimited detention without charge.

But these guys weren't caught on suspicion of committing a crime. They were taken on a battlefield. And yes, we have ongoing hostilities with the Taliban and AQ, who have been identified as these combatants' "sides".

Since when do you charge POWs with a crime?

If the US government has some reason to believe that the detainees will do what you say if released, then they should share with us (the US public) that evidence. Without any information, I say we should let them go. If there is a good reason to keep them, let us know the basis of the reason


The evidence is very public.
