As long as the base metal boom lives and silver is a by product of that, silver will never regain the "traditional" 16:1 ratio you speak of. They will dump the silver to pay for the base metal and the ratio will stay 50:1....

Silver nickel solder is nothing new....been around for years but it is being used more as we move away from lead.....it will take a lot of solder to replace the silver that is no longer used in the photo industry.....
