I feel that he has provided a good sounding board and stimulus for us all to speak to – this helps us to understand our own thinking as well as that from Islam. Nothing he or anyone else has said has convinced me to embrace Islam – I find it totally incomprehensible, both spiritually and morally, from my Judeo-Christian perspective. Many on this thread do not agree with GEM's position on most things. But, really isn’t it a little naive to expect a man of serious religious conviction to change that opinion and be convinced to the contrary, at least quickly? Someone once said, “A man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still.” We site Christians who Islamists force to choose between death and conversion to Islam – how can we expect RCG to deny his own beliefs -- as wrong as we as Judeo-Christians believe his beliefs may be? I think even GEM will admit that much that is mentioned about Islam is indefensible -- as are some things in our past as well. It should be obvious that Islamists have no respect for any life – they wire themselves up as bombs to commit suicide -- they kill fellow Muslims, Jews, and Christians without concern – they are worthless human beings -- or pathetic POS if you prefer. It should be equally obvious that confrontation by Muslims, from within Islam is very dangerous and far more dangerous than the expected anti-Islam criticism from outside Islam. If we wonder why the rising tide of Muslim anti-terrorist action has been slow in building, and I share that belief, I think we may not appreciate the real danger that outspoken individuals face – it is grave indeed. I think it is becoming apparent to moderate Muslims, that alignment against radical Islam will require a re-alignment with the West and Judeo-Christianity. This must be a very distasteful realization for any practicing Muslim; however, it appears increasingly probable that such re-alignment is necessary if Islam, and possibly civilization as a whole, is to survive. I would argue that re-alignment with the Atheistic, resurrected USSR is the path being taken by Islamic Extremists who after all are actually atheists under a microscope.
