Let there be no doubt about it: Presidential candidate Barack Obama is now officially a brand. How do we know? He's got his own logo.

Obama has two Chicago firms Mo/de and Sender LLC to thank for creating the "rising sun" logo that will be right there with the candidate on the long road leading to the presidential vote in late 2008.

Obama's new logo is comprised of the letter "O" coupled with a valley of stripes leading to the horizon. The hope is that Obama's brand mark will communicate the feeling of optimism at the heart of the senator's presidential bid.

Mo/de got involved in developing the Obama brand identity through noted media strategist David Axelrod, who is working on the Obama campaign.

Axelrod previously turned to Mo/de for other political projects, and he believed the design firm was the right choice to develop Obama's brand identity.

Mo/de, in turn, called on Sender, a brand consultancy, to help execute the project. Explained Colin Carter, president of Mo/de, "By partnering with Sender, we were able to ensure the development of a world-class identity with great potential for video and Web applications."

Agreed. I find her show to be fresh and funny...especially liked the episode where she was trying to live vicariously through the child pageant queen. Selfish, self-centered, and damn funny!!
