No it's not similar to the idea of war followed by coerced conversion. There is no Christian nation left today. Governments go to war with each other, and there is no "Christian government" left, other than perhaps the Vatican, which has lots of Swiss military but lacks the ability to launch a war.

Since the separation of church and state the Christian Church has to convert through persuasion, not force. Opening up a Christian charity in India is a lot different than trying to take over India and force all the new subjects to become Christian.
