So the separation of church and state is not a black and white thing. Of course not. We have Sunday and Xmas off, they have Friday and a nice three day Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan off. 'Nuff said. But.....we don't (generally) claim the bible as the basis for law. You can covet your neighbor's wife in almost any non-Muslim country on earth, and succeed, and your neighbor can't have you arrested. But Muslims can be arrested for boozing it up in loads of Islamic countries. The law may not be enforced strongly everywhere, but it is on the books.
