What makes you think that I consider the old Soviet Union the ideal?

Nothing. I don't think you consider it an ideal. But things like it are what happen when you want to make the government the prime controller of resources rather then allowing people the freedom to make their own economic decisions. Now maybe the Kims and Stalin might be considered particularly bad rulers, but problems inherent in such a system will mean its a poor choice even if you have the best possible rulers.

The old Soviet Union was an oligarchial dictatorship.....it has nothing to do with socialism vs capitalism which was what we were discussing and no where have I said its my ideal economic system. So why did you bring it up?
