You would absolutely HATE Montana, Br'er Rabbit. It's awful. The scenery stinks too.

But then on the other hand...where to go that doesn't have really stupid government? Vermont? MA? Oregon? Colorado? California anyplace on the Central Coast or San Diego? SFO and that whole area are just way over the top
