I recall they built a railroad to Dease Lake, near Schaft Creek. It was meant to open up the country to mining, but I don't think it was ever used before they dismantled it. I suppose the right-of-way still exists.

Teck used to own 100% of Schaft Creek. Why would they agree to pay present owners 4x the money they spend to buy back a 75% interest ? Why wouldn't they spend their own money ?

In contrast, it is their money (tentatively C$9M) they are spending to explore Lysander's (Jayjay etc) property south of the Kemess mine. Hard to understand their logic.
