Some speculation that drill news is pending next week on their Orchid Lake Athabasca property. I don't have a good handle on what the depth is to the Athabasca Sandstone at Orchid Lake. It's been said here at SI.ca that some of the deeper basin plays are 1700 meters down. Given that, I wonder if any of the past producing mines in the Athabasca region have attempted the use of in situ leaching (ISL)...? Besides Cigar Lake, does anyone know the depth of some of the producing mines in the same area? Dr. Colin Dunn, formerly of the Geological Survey of Canada did some pioneering bio-geochemistry work using spruce tree analysis in the basin over 20 years ago. His reports indicate that some the uranium is present in an oxidized soluble form in the sandstone, along with dissolved iron. It would seem that the geology may potentially lend itself to ISL in some of the deeper parts of the basin. Bio-geochemistry as a reconnisance tool utilizing the spruce trees is apparently limited to a few hundred meters depth to the formation of interest. GU also has several properties in the past producing Lisbon Valley of Utah. Had trouble dowloading their corporate slide show presentation until just yesterday. Having seen that, it appears that the focus is on Athabasca for the time being. Took an initial position of 10,000 shares two weeks ago, after conversation with Dorinho and some quick DD. This one was under the radar until today, perhaps. With Urani-Mania in full bloom...{and it does not hurt that Pinetree Capital has GU in their PF}, this stock may be poised to take off next week. All in my humble opinion, of course. "Practice Random Acts of Kindness and Question Authority"
