The question about belief in Holy War is not what right-wing pundits say about it. The question is what it actually IS at this moment in the Islamic world. There isn't a shred of a doubt that Al Qaeda and those who sympathise with Al Qaeda believe in Holy War. The question is, how many people is that?
Since you are expert on AQ and Islam, why don't you volunteer the information.

>> What about Ayaan Hirsi Ali? Is she a right-wing pundit too?

Oh no, she's a bleeding heart leftie!

>> She says Wahabbi strain of Islam, which does teach Holy War and hatred of Christians and Jews, has become a very standard mainstream interpretation of Islam.

Talk is one thing. Proof is something else. Why don't you bring forth statistics on various branches of Islam and show us how big the Wahhabi faction is.

One in five people in the world is a Muslim. Don't you think that even if 1% of them was set on waging war we'd have a hell of a lot more dead on our hands than we do?

Wahabi teachings, textbooks, restrictions on women, etc. are unique to SA for the most part.

We're fighting in secular Iraq.

Why didn't we invade SA? They have lots of oil and the production infrastructure is already in place.

As for Ali, right-wing pundits are making her a propanganda tool to continue or even ratchet up fear of Islam.
