fedman:

Welcome to the board of Contrarian Investing!

As to whether NEW qualifies as a contrarian investment, I suggest that you read through the discussion of this board and understand our criterion for such an investment.

Our contrarian sub-portfolio of mortgage companies include the following:

1.http://stockcharts.com/charts/candleglance.php?ECPG,FMT,HBC,CTX,NFI,FED,NDE,LEND,NEW,CFC|B|K14,MTG,FICC

2. stockcharts.com|B|K14

NEW is unique among these group of companies in that it is the only one charged with criminal investigation. I think that the management will be vindicated. Ask yourself: Otherwise, why would Morgan Stanley get involved?

Good luck!
