EGGNOG

The problem person is "dougsf30".

He was a problem when he was a snarling aggressive advocate of AMD and a sneering self-appointed public enemy of Intel - raiding numerous forums continuously from 7 am to midnight (PT) spewing personal insults in his wake.

He then underwent a sudden conversion to Intel (after his AMD call options at $40 went bust)and became the self-appointed enemy of AMD.

Like all converts he strives to convince that he's more Catholic than the Pope.

Analyze the deterioration of this board and you will see that much of it stems from his frenetic activities and the failure of the moderators to deal with him.

The board could recover much of its previous constructiveness if he was banned for good.

His output is that of a demented librarian - he has no direct knowledge or experience of the industry and spends most of his time trying to demonstrate that he has read and cross-referenced every press release and every post on every forum in the AMD-Intel universe.

I am starting to get quite annoyed with this message board. It is becoming less and less useful.

I click on the most recommended posts which seem to be messages insulting others and barely relevant to AMD.

Actually, this is the key value of this board. I have been a member of this board since '96 (!), and if you time your investments based on the signal-to-noise-ratio on this board, you will do very well indeed.

This board becomes rich with info when there is indeed something good going on with AMD. The last time that happened, it was with the 64bit Opteron/Athlon launch, and then crested with the x2. At one point during this, the stock could be had for $3. It was amazing to see a very strong signal on this board, full of strong supporters of the technology, and only one or two detractors, with the stock all but delisted.

Useful posts dropped off a cliff after Intel announced the core architecture last Feb. The stock was at $40 odd. A clear signal to sell.
