Because CO2 concentrations didn't start the warming cycle, something else did. Likely a change in the solar constant. But it is pretty likely once the ice melted and the organics oxidized and the methane was released from the permafrost, the slight temperature increase from the change in the solar constant. Which is why the general trend is either Ice Age or no glaciers, with only short intervals in between.
