That sure is right! Doggies are a lot of work...we got our first Golden Retriever Jeff, when the little kids were pretty small....They were about 2, 3, 4 and 5....Hubby said they would "love a dog to grow up with..." I told him at that minute that the kids were already PLENTY of work, but he didn't listen well, so Jeff came home with us when he was about 2 months old.... I just about went nuts getting all of them taken care of...but Jeff became such a good friend. If he could have helped with them, I know he would have.

He wasn't much help doing housework though...his tail wagged all the time, even in the mud. And of course when he came in, both his feet and his tail had to be cleaned up...sometimes he came in and he was still a mess from playing outside...

Oh, man, those WERE the days!
