Covered Call Prospects... Short & Long Term

We could still answer any covered call questions that thread viewers might have.

I'm just a lurker here, but I'll chime in. I don't think there's any need for a title change. Besides, if there's going to be a title change, it should be at FaultLine's discretion. He is, after all, the founder and moderator of this thread even if he's kept a low profile in recent years. Personally, I think the present title makes the thread accessible to those who might have basic questions. Why mess with a good thing?

This forum has a special focus... discussion of the conservative practice of writing calls against long term holdings. There are other threads devoted to puts and calls for those looking for high leverage instruments.

I also think short puts are a sound idea for this board, in addition to covered calls.

Sometimes one becomes the other <g>.

Some of my favorites for put writing, followed by covered calls if assigned, are SLB, APA, ERF (great yield besides), PTEN, CNQ, ISRG, NFX, RIG, XING, and FLML.
