You can buy little swings, perches and rubber trees for them to climb on. If it just huddles in the bottom with its feathers all fluffed around it, it could be an indication of being sick. There are vets who specialize in birds. Ask at bird store for recommendations. Welcome to Bird Ownership!! :)

Can you put the crate up on a counter where he can watch you. And if he/she drives you crazy with squawking cover the cage and say nite nite... use a light weight something material and leave room for good room temperature to circulate around him.

He needs some of your companionship. If you want to get rid of him you can always ask at the bird store if they have a list of people to adopt. There are people who absolutely Love birds and have more than one :)

ps... some of them can tear off wallpaper from the wall.. keep wings clipped... bird store will do this for you!!
