Is that your little darling or a representative pic you found on line? I bet he/she (it) will be eating out of your hand soon.

Looks like a cocktiel.

Sexing

Males tend to have a brighter facial color. Females have a duller facial color, and have barring under their tails. Some breeders say this general sexing rule is not always true. This method of sexing becomes more difficult in the variations.

Let him land on your head and check then.

Oh he is beautiful!! Lucky you!! My Goldens would love to invite him to lunch. That's why we don't have one here. Daughter and SIL's Golden loved their bird. He'd let Larry Bird ride on his back.
He was a great bird!
sigh... he broke hearts at his funeral... silly... but true.

Smithee, It would be a good idea to take Gizmo to a veterinarian who specializes in exotic birds for a routine health check, the reason being that birds can be carriers of some pretty awful diseases transmittable to humans. While Gizmo is a nice unisex name, you still might also want to have the bird's sex determined. - Holly@crepehanger.com
