He never mentioned any new FACTS. He never cited any new sources of information, and (to me this was crucial) when asked why he had changed his story, denied that he HAD changed his story, though he obviously had done so.

Besides, where would he have gotten new facts? During this period there were no weapons inspections in Iraq, and the major intelligence services were agreed that Saddam had WMDs.
