As I understand it the legal Process allows for an appeal, could we have the appeal over before you send him to jail. Also I am not aware of how serious his lies were, evidently he did not expose any state secrets, but seems to have messed up on the details of who said what to whom and when. Strangely enough, much of that would be called hearsay as far as I know and wouldn't be admissable in court.

What if he was accused and tried because of who he is rather than what he did?
