I have a strong belief that the house of Saud will not relinquish control on the country (including Mecca and Medina) during my lifetime. Who can tell? The whole system is the definition of opaque. BUT...we know how the Saudis deal with problems. They buy them off. There comes a time when this doesn't work. All you need is a committed group of say, army officers, or perhaps a minor branch of the family, and enough of the secret police fooled or brought over. Then the coup d'etat happens in an afternoon.
