"when was the last time YOU wrote one of YOUR Washington representative congresscritters and told then that you thought they were SORRY elected officials for bringing home the bacon....be specific."

I had a meeting with my congressman in Washington D.C. on February 22nd, 2007. Among a number of items discussed at his annual visitors day was spending practices in congress. He is a democrat (although something of a centrist as democrats go), so I don't know that it will go very far. He is on the Armed Services Committee and wanted to focus more on Iraq and the international situation. I did get a chance, among others, to ask his position on legislation to curtail earmarks and bring some sense to the process. He said he supported such concepts "generally".

Specific enough for you?
