Give me 5 minutes and I'll think of six more.

Here is another one for your list. The WWII and Korea enlisted and drafted forces had seven ranks for the enlisted. Private to Master Sergeant.

I was three stripper. The $1800 and a fourth stripe wasn't enough incentive to re-up.

Today, there are thirteen, five of which are in the Master Sergeant level. Are these numbers intended to encourage our volunteer force enlistment policy or is it merely an extension of the DOD gravy train?

I am not opposed to the enlisted and lower level officer ranks making good money. They are worth every penny for what they do in time of war. Personally, I think their combat pay should be at least 100% of their non combat salary.

I like your over all list. However, the Lockheeds, Rathyeons, Halliburtons and Boeings etc. won't be sitting idly by while Congress attempts to dismantle the DOD "money machine".
