"you've lost that debate."

I've lost what debate. I protested in the streets against the VietNam war when I learned that the Administration could not be trusted to tell us the truth about it. I also learned that the leftists were driving a socialist agenda and could not be trusted to tell the truth about VietNam. We eventually got out of VietNam because the consciousness of America changed with regards to that particular cause, not because it was a lost war but more because it became a lost cause.

"An American military unit larger than a platoon was never defeated by the NVA or Viet Cong in Vietnam.

This statement by itself is factually incorrect in that one must include air power in the equation. If the average military unit larger than a platoon had operated without air power during the war we would have lost a good deal of them, and our deaths would have greatly exceeded 50K+

I'm sure it is an arcanely nuanced point according to some....
