Unfortunately, it is so taboo to speak of cultural or racial differences that we simply don't. That means that we must always assume that women and men, people of different races, and people of different cultures are inherently alike and thus the root of any apparent problems must lie in disparate resources, discrimination or inadequate education.

Yes, that is the legacy of PC. More recently with the WOT, we have conceded that religion might be part of the problem, at least other people's religion. The flip side is that when we did assume that culture or race was the important difference, we acted horrifically.

they'll soon become different shades of us.

IMO, that is the fundamental problem. Most human morality is predicated on believing that others "are the same as us". If they are different enough then different moral treatment is OK. Hence the entire multicultural/PC complex has a goal of denying difference in order to extend moral treatment.

For myself, I've come to the conclusion that I treat other things morally simply because they exist, and have a birthright on the Earth. In so doing I'm very well aware that some things on the Earth are dangerous to me, so I must take precautions at times. Such a world view is, I suspect utterly alien to many humans.

My late brother in law made a practice of yelling that very same statement whenever he heard a racist comment directed to any ethnic group. He was white as a sheet but he had kinky, curly hair and he was a big man. The shocked reactions of men who'd made racist comments regarding African Americans was very rewarding.

ROTFLMAO!
