It isn't something specific to Jewish groups. Many groups, representing all different ethnic groups, religious groups, even political groups, try to shut up certain types of criticism.

Some of what they try to shut up is extremely obnoxious stuff, so its understandable but

1 - Not all of it is false and/or obnoxious

and

2 - Even false obnoxious statements generally shouldn't be censored.

OTOH to be fair to these groups, often they aren't directly support censorship (often but not always, some of them do sometimes directly call for or support censorship), but rather trying to get people to regard certain types of statements as hateful or bigoted, so that it becomes socially unacceptable to say such things. That's not really censorship, and I have much less problem with people calling some statement hateful or bigoted (esp. if it really is) than with making the statement illegal.
