Unfortunately, there is no comparable tax savings for US citizens, not even for the ten year period after they renounce their US citizenship. US law changed in this regard shortly after John Templeton renounced his US citizenship and moved to the Bahamas.


I thought if a US citizen was working overseas then they do not have to pay taxes on the first 85k of income. (The rationale being they would pay taxes to their host country..)

As I read the document, I think I see your differentiation.... if one is working directly for Halliburton, performing internal duties, (accounting, etc..) then it does appear one would pay US taxes.
