The French denied Reagan air permission when he sent fighters to take out Kaddhafi. In truth, they have not been a good ally to the US since WW2.

My premise was that the French thought going into iraq was a bad idea, and they were right. No the French had Billions of dollars invested in iraq, and didn't want the local Mass Murderer deposed in case they lost some of it.

The French were getting oil and money from Iraq under Saddam, they didn't want their free ride to end.
