Socialist Senator Wants 'Media Reform'

Bernie Sanders, the only self-avowed socialist in the U.S. Senate (which is one too many), wants to regulate the media. From a National Journal interview ($):

"I want to tell you about another bill we are going to introduce, which will probably end up with very few co-sponsors, but that is a comprehensive bill on media reform. Because I think that one of the major problems that we have is we're never going to be a vibrant democracy in which people are discussing the real issues facing them unless we address the growing corporate control over what the American people see, hear and read."

What an extremely uninformed comment. Has Sanders not heard of the blogosphere? The dissemination of information is becoming more and more decentralized everyday. It's one of the most exciting emergent products of the free market, which is probably why Sanders fails to acknowledge and appreciate its existence. I wonder what his Kossack buddies think about this idea??

What is interesting is those are all the talking points that the republicans use. All of which have never taken serious root in the mainstream because they are exaggerations used to justify your fantasy. If they were substantial they would be widely reported, but alas they are only taken seriously in these extreme right wing forums.

They are equally as fallacious as the Lefts accusation that Bush only went to war for Oil and Haliburton.

You will never convince me and I will never convince you. You will always think it was right and just and necessary to invade Iraq. And I do not.
