In the bad times many oil companies make pathetic margins or even lose money. Straw man. an 18% operating margin is pretty good if you are not comparing to a monopoly high intellectual property company. How about you compare it to Kroger, good company and they have a 5 year average of 3.35% operating margin. It's intellectually weak to compare it to MSFT.
