Nixon expanded the Vietnam War AFTER he knew damn well and his advisors told him that it was a hopeless morass that was unwinnable. Nixon should have ended that war ASAP but kept it going and going and going. Nixon is very much responsible for some of the worst aspects of the Vietnam War. He shares blame with LBJ. But at least LBJ admitted his failures and bowed out. Nixon like GW Bush ran for re-election and lied to the public that the war was winnable.
