Bushies told thousands of lies about Iraq. Deliberately. Their whole plan was to hoodwink the public and congress into supporting a completely unnecessary war based on hyped, cherry-picked, fabricated and covered-up evidence.

The former CIA station chief for the middle east revealed last year that six months before the invasion the CIA got a reliable source inside Saddam's inner circle who told them categorically that Saddam had gotten rid of all his WMD in the early 90's and was just pretending to have the weapons. The Whiter House heard this and rebuffed the CIA, basically telling them to shut up. The White House did not share this news with congress either.

The whole Plamegate case arises from cheney-Bush's big fat lie that Saddam had an active nuclear program. Cheney openly lied about Atta meeting with Iraqi intel in Prague, a story which was debunked by the Prague Post and Czech intelligence while I was in Prague. I read it in the newspaper and Cheney knew it. But he lied repeatedly anyway. The list of lies goes on and on and on and it's all very much impeachable stuff, much worse than anything Nixon did and far-far worse than anything the rightwing even imagined Clinton did.
