One of the issues lost in the Mars "evidence" is that Mars does not have an Ozone layer. The Ozone layer acts as an insulator; it prevents much of the rays from Sun reaching Earth and prevents much of Earth's CO2 and heat going out. This means that unlike Mars, our global warming is mostly self induced.

The other point is a matter of pragmatism. Suppose that a steel worker gets lung cancer due to exposure to industrial gases. Now we ask him to stop smoking a pack a day because that promotes cancer and ruins his lungs. This is good advice, even though the main cause of his cancer was the steel mill. The way the conservatives go about it, it would be like our steel worker claiming that because his cancer was mostly caused by his work conditions, he should go on smoking a pack a day.
