When your people are being highly successful how closely do you watch them, especially if they are supposed to know what they are doing?

The crash in subprime happened so fast that the Wall Street firms couldn't get out in time. Once it started it was an avalanche. Many on Wall Street may have also believed their own BS about how it wasn't going to be a big deal, just as they believed their own BS about a housing recovery being around the corner.
