The Unemployment rate in the European Union in January 2007 was 7.5%, however the rate varies by member state, the lowest rates are in Denmark, Ireland, Austria, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom at 4-5% to over 15% in Poland, this compares with 4.1% in Japan and 4.7% in the United States."
