With a global warming crisis looming, we need a new "man-on-the-moon" effort to protect our environment.

We've incurred a lot higher costs in the name of environmental protection than we did to get to the moon. If a new addition of only the amount of inflation adjusted dollars that the Apollo program cost is all that is needed then its not a big problem, but I really doubt that applying that additional level of effort and cost would satisfy those calling for the "man-on-the-moon" effort.

Excellent. I'll keep my eye on him. The grand daddy of environmental candidates, though, would be Al Gore...if only he would run. It's funny how I was terrified that Gore might beat Bush in 2000. Now I'm terrified that we might get another idiot like Bush, who simply can't see the no-brainer of oil independence as our number 1 priority.
