many users 1st O/S was windows 3.1 and upgraded to W95, W98, W-ME, W2000, XP, then Vista.
Some upgrades could be skipped but anyone starting out with w 3.1 won't have any trouble upgrading to Vista.

I have a Lexmark Printer & a Vista driver was not available until recently, so what? I ran the win upg pre check prg & it listed that & any other drivers I might have problems with. I went to the web sites listed and found out when & if Vista drivers would be available & then I installed Vista, after I did all the >>RESEARCH<< I needed to do.

If you don't how to upgrade a new O/S, or are too dumb, lazy, whatever, simply buy a new PC with Vista already loaded and quit your crying.

you should just get a Mac. OS X is much better than Vista.
i'm very disappointed that MSFT did not include .Mac type functionality in Vista. maybe they thought people would stop overpaying for Exchange Server.
