CIA gives the same top number but thinks it may be lower than 6 million. Even if it is six million, that's less than 10% of France's population. By comparison, blacks make up 13% of the US population, and its estimated that Latinos are 15-20%. Therefore, less than 10% does not seem like a significant portion of the population.
