That sounds like folks who tell the doc "It hurts when I do that."

The answer is(or should be): "So, don't do that."

I am heeding the advice of the bird authorities and not doing the actions that seem to provoke him. At some point, we'll have to try hand feeding, so he gets used to the idea that hands are not dangerous.

I suspect in his past life, he was grabbed and/or poked.
