I'm disappointed by the small trading volume of late.

The stock price just seems to be floating around based
on general economic or market feelings... nothing based
on company fundamentals.

The company is still "new" so folks still cut them some
slack, but the market will want to know what's happening
at the next quarterly review. I hope they have some good
news to present, or we'll see the price drift much lower.

Harris Stratex Networks Introduces Embedded Add/Drop, Cross-Connect and Ring Protection Features on TRuepoint(R) 5000 Digital Microwave Radios

Tuesday March 27, 9:00 am ET

New Scalable Mux Cross-Connect (SMX) card eliminates costly third-party equipment

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., March 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Stratex Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSTX - News), the leading independent supplier of turnkey wireless network solutions, has announced the first release of the Scalable Mux Cross-Connect (SMX) card for the TRuepoint® 5000 digital microwave radio. The new SMX offers integrated add/drop and cross-connect functionality, as well as sophisticated ring protection capability-eliminating the need for costly, high-end external equipment, reducing capital and operating expenses and simplifying network operation.

SMX is an "embedded" solution that eliminates external multiplexers, cross-connects, loop switches and the cabling and patch panels required to support third-party devices. In addition to reducing equipment costs, SMX saves rack space, reduces installation time and enables remote provisioning of microwave traffic via Web-CIT, providing ongoing operational savings over the life of the network. Remote field upgrade capability via software keys ensures the lowest upgrade costs possible. This embedded solution also ensures that a single network management system (NMS) can manage both the radios and the add/drop multiplexer capability, resulting in significant NMS-related cost savings and making the network far easier to use and maintain.

"SMX will help operators requiring add/drop, cross connect or ring protection functionality reduce their capital expenses and operating expenses, while making their network significantly easier to deploy, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot," said John Koenig, vice president, product line management at Harris Stratex Networks. "TRuepoint® 5000 is recognized for offering the most robust and diverse protection schemes available in the market. Now, the same robustness is available for SMX. This is the latest addition to a long list of standard and optional features that make TRuepoint® a wireless transmission technology leader."

SMX allows operators to add or drop up to 28 DS1s into and out of multiple STS-3 or OC-3 streams. It is a non-blocking VT1.5 or STS-1 cross-connect, allowing connection of any tributary from any direction to any tributary in any direction. It supports both linear and unidirectional path-switched ring (UPSR) configurations to ensure optimal traffic direction for each VT1.5 at all times.

Any TRuepoint® airlink equipped with SMX can be configured as 1, 2 or 3 STS-1s. This scalable airlink capacity allows operators to make the most efficient use of available bandwidth on the network. SMX is available in optical single-mode, optical multimode and electrical interface configurations.

Cramer's 'Mad Money' Recap

By TheStreet.com Staff

3/27/2007 7:38 PM EDT

[snip]

A while back, a viewer from Mississippi called in asking about Harris Stratex Networks (HSTX), but Cramer wasn't familiar with the stock and said he'd get back to it.

Now, after doing his homework, Cramer believes that Harris Stratex's parent company Harris (HRS) is a better stock to own. He advised selling the child, Harris Stratex, and buying the parent, Harris.

Though Cramer doesn't consider Harris Stratex's business of microwave radios to be that strong, he called Harris "sweet." Its other businesses, which include government communications systems, RF communications and broadcast, "are very strong," he said.
