Samsung, Ericsson End Patent Fight

Samsung Electronics Co. and Telefon AB LM Ericsson agreed to withdraw their wireless technology-related lawsuits and signed a cross-licensing agreement on patents. Under the deal, the two companies will use each other's patented technologies relating to second-generation and third-generation wireless services, Samsung said in a regulatory filing. South Korea's Samsung is the world's third-largest maker of mobile phones by sales. The Swedish company runs Sony Ericsson, a smaller cellphone maker, which is a joint venture with Sony Corp.
