Re: Nortel

It is curious that the PR was not issued over the wires this morning at 7:30 AM, as usual, and that it can no longer be found on the corporate website. I have sent an inquiry to IR, and will advise should they reply.

This is astonishing to me because I had not known that QCOM owned rights it could grant or license for GSM wireless networks.

I have also noticed that this announcement has been removed from the Qualcomm home page. Can anyone else pull this up or has the press release been retracted?

Wow, I am fairly sure that I have never seen Qualcomm take a press release off of their website like this. I'm not sure what to make of it....was it released prematurely or were some of the quotes wrong?

As for the GSM license, why in the world would Nortel agree to validate Q's GSM/GPRS/EDGE patent portfolio before it was tested in the courts?
