You're sounding like those volunteer workers I met in Nigeria. Give them 1/2 a chance they will bugger off that place in no time. See that wall Bush is putting on the Mexican border? That's to stop those "happy" people from running away from the tough life. Anything is better than the tough life! If you know that you can fall back to your normal life, -you had always that American Express in your back pocket, while there didn't you?- your adventure there sounds like when we go camping and return to civilization after that.
