"There's a war on..."

Which means what? We had a cold war with the Soviet Union for fifty years....we had a war in Korea and in Viet-Nam.

Nobody is asking that Mr. Bush or Mr. Cheney open their files the day after they leave office.

What does having a war on have to do with the eventual review of documents? Requests for the documents can still be objected to and there is a forty day period for review and objection.

Why would a President destroy papers when he can just provide a legitimate objection to their release.
